Thursday, October 23rd

Character Ed:  Today Mrs. Weninger brought in some "tools" that she uses for kids who need help getting back into the green zone.  We talked about things we already do in our classroom and learned some new ways too.  We wrote these great tools in our "toolbox."  Mrs. Weninger showed us one of her favorite tools called a "breathing ball."  She let a few of us try it out and she talked to us about how breathing can help us get back into the green zone.

Math:  Today for math we did an activity with our names.  We put our names in a ten-frame and talked about how many letters were in our names.

We had our hearing screening today.

WE HAD PHY ED TODAY!

Reading/Phonics:  Today was day 2 of letter Oo.  We met a new puppet today named Ralphie.  He helped us with our ABC chart.  We reviewed the letters we have learned and played a snap word game called "hangman."

Handwriting:  Today we learned the letter B.

Fine Motor activity:  Today we used a push pin to poke holes into a pumpkin sheet.  When we are all done and hold them up to the light, it looks just like a pumpkin.  This is a great way to build and strengthen the muscles in our hands.  We really enjoyed this activity!
