HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO....Skylar!!
SCIENCE EXPRESS: We went into the science express lab this morning. We learned about making mud using an instrument called a vortex and how we can use a machine called a centrifuge to separate the mud back to dirt and water. We really enjoyed this hands on experience! I hope you enjoy the pictures!
Math: Today for math we introduced 3D shapes. We talked about the characteristics of each shape and what real world objects they remind us of. We then went on a shape hunt around the classroom looking for cubes, cones, spheres and cylinders.
Writer's Workshop: Today we read a story called Bear Feels Scared. It was about a bear who went out to look for food but got caught in a thunderstorm and couldn't find his way home. His friends were really worried about him and went to find him. They found him and they all went home together. We talked with our tun and talk partners about connections we made with this story. We talked about a time when we felt scared and we wrote this in our journals.
WE HAD PHY ED TODAY!
This afternoon we had a guest teacher named Ms. Huffman. We were really great listeners for her!
Reading/Phonics: Today we learned about the letter Pp and the sound it makes. We read the Alphatales story The Pig's Picnic. We brainstormed words that start with the letter P and worked on our letter P poems.
Daily 5: Today we worked on Read to Self and Work on Writing.
Social Studies: Today was our Time for Kids day!
