Peeks from last week...

HALFY BIRTHDAY TO...MADELINE AND NOAH!!

Tuesday we got to read with 4th grade buddies on the Reading stage in the lobby area!

Math: Tuesday was iPad math day.  The rest of the days in math we were working on finding one more and one less than a number but now we are using the math words plus, minus and equals.

Phonics/Language Arts:  This week we learned the it word family and also the number words three and four. We played a new game called "beat the teacher."  I would give them a snap word and they would have to write the word as many times as they could and would try to beat me while I was writing them.  We had a lot of fun with this and a great way to practice letter formation and snap word recognition.  Ask your child about it, it would be a great game to play at home! :)

Writing:  We worked on adding details to our stories.

Handwriting:  We focused on U, V and W

Technology:   Today in technology we worked with the keyboard.  The kids color coded the keys to learn about what they do.

Other Special happenings:

Pizza Party:  On Tuesday we celebrated filling up our classroom marble jar by having a PIZZA PARTY!!

Wednesday was Wellness Wednesday-Mr. Ronnenberg had an exercise routine for the entire school to do in the morning.

Wednesday Nurse Sarah came in and did a lesson on brushing our teeth.  We watched a quick video and Nurse Sarah modeled how to make sure we are getting those tricky places.  We put a tablet in our mouth that made the old plaque purple and the newest plaque pink.  After chewing this up we looked in the mirror to see where we could work on brushing better.  Then we each got a new toothbrush and practiced brushing our teeth.  We had so much fun and it was a great learning experience.

6th grade plays:  On Thursday we went down to Mrs. Desmarais-Holland's 6th grade classroom to watch plays that they wrote themselves.  We really enjoyed their stories and all their props.

Wacky Hair day!!
