S.M.A.R.T. Room:  Today we learned where our "S.M.A.R.T. spots" were and practiced doing helicopter spins, superman and popcorn.  Ask your child to show you these! Here is a little video showing us learning the alligator crawl, balance beam and pencil roll.

Math: Today in math we each got our "calendar binders" and were able to follow along on the smart board.  Each slide on the smart board has a page in our books so we can all be "doing" our calendars together.  This took a lot of practice but we worked really hard and will LOVE calendar time!!  Because this took a little longer than excepted, this was our math lesson for the day. :)

Writer's Workshop:  We are continuing to learn about each child's name and making a special "All About Me" book.

Phonics: Today we learned about the letter Cc.  We read the alpha tales book Copy Cats and worked on our letter Cc poem.  We also talked about the snap work "a".

Special Visitors:  Today Mrs. Harlan, Mrs. Weninger and Officer Fox came into our classroom and talked about being safe in school and how to make sure we are following the school expectations.  They talked about how it is "unexpected" to draw a picture, make with your hands or build ANY thing that looks like a weapon. (Ex. gun or sword)  They also talked about how to use the buddy bench.  If you cannot find someone to play with then you can sit on the buddy bench and if someone asks you to play you say "yes" and go play with them.  We were all great listeners!
