Character Education:  Mrs. Weninger taught us the yellow zone today.  There are many feelings we could be having when in the yellow zone.  Some examples we talked about were: frustrated, overwhelmed, silly, and excited.

Math: Today we started our study of "part/part/whole."  This is another way to help build number sense.  Today we found the various ways to make the number 6.  We will be studying and working with part/part/whole for a couple weeks.

Inside recess today- BRRR

Phy Ed today!

Snap word game:  We learned a new game today- it is similar to hangman but we start with a face and try to guess letters to make the snap word before Mrs. Jost erases the face.  Every time we guess a letter that is NOT in the word, I erase a part of the face such as the nose.  They LOVE this game and it is a great review of snap words.

Reading Strategy:  Today we learned "Chunky Monkey." When we get stuck on a word, look for chunks of the word you may know.

Color word: GREEN

FYI: Wear Purple or Vikings gear tomorrow in honor of the VIKINGS!  SKOL!
