Alivia's Story
I am writing this letter to inform you about a student in our
class ALlvia, who is going through
some tough times. On December 15th, Alivia’s family was informed
that she had a brain tumor. We
were all in shock and disbelief and also very scared. On December 28th, Alivia had surgery to remove
the tumor. After having the tumor
tested at St. Judes’s, they found that the tumor was cancerous. On February 5th, Alivia had
a port inserted because beginning February 8th, she will be down at
the Mayo clinic undergoing radiation.
She will have radiation treatments Monday-Friday for 6 weeks. During this time, they will be staying at the Ronald McDonald House. If
you are interested in donating any items to add to a basket for them, please
send it in with your child or drop off at the office. We have been making cards for Alivia and she was able to
stop in last week to talk about her situation. The kids all asked great questions and had so much empathy
for Alivia. Please keep Alivia and
her family in your thoughts. A
caring bridge website has been set up.
Below is a link to her story.
If you have questions, please let me know,
Mrs. Jost
