More addition using story problems.  We made a class book using addition number sentences. Friday was iPad math.

Reading strategies: Flippy Dolphin and Tryin' Lyin

Spanish:  This week, a group of Spanish Students from the High School came to our classroom daily for 30 minutes to teach us some basic spanish words.  We learned colors, numbers, body parts animals, and basic items such as pencil and paper.  We played fun games to help us remember.

BOX TOPS: Please save your box tops and send in to school on collection days.  We are working on making enough to add 2 tire swings to the playground!  We are also competing with other classrooms and grade levels to see who can collect the most!  HELP OUR SCHOOL GET SOME TIRE SWINGS!!  If you are not sure what you can save and send in, please let me know and I will get you another info sheet!  THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

This week was our Reader's Theatre week.  We practice reading fluently( so it sounds like we are talking) and reading with expression.

Storybook Readers:  This week we had two special readers!

100th Day activities!!!

Grandma Jost came to teach today!  We had fun doing many 100 day things!!

Art:

We created a picture showing our "superpower!"

• Keep reading at home and writing your minutes on the purple calendar!
• If anyone has any items or special cards they would like to donate to Alivia, please let me know.  I will be delivering another basket to her on Friday.

Also, you received a letter home on Friday describing a study I will be conducting about using iPads for handwriting.  We will be starting our study next week.  I will keep you inform you the results when it is complete.  This is a project for a class I am taking in getting my master's degree.  I appreciate your support!  Thanks!

Valentine's Day:  We had our party where we played Bingo, handed out our valentine's, created heart inspired projects and a had a special Valentine's cookie treat!
