This week in...

Math

We completed our unit on 3D shapes.  We also started our Unit 2 where we will be building our number sense by decomposing numbers.  We will be working with the numbers 6-10.  Friday we had iPad math.  We played the game Squeeze with our ketchup/mustard partners.

Reading/Phonics:

Letter focus: N and O

This was our week 3 of our reading curriculum where we focus on reading fluency and with expression.  Every third week of a unit we practice with a group all week reading a reader's theatre book.  We practiced all week and on Friday we "performed" them in front of the class.

Character Education:

This week we talked about the Unthinkable "Body Snatcher." He gets in our brain and takes us away from the group.  He might tell us to lay down on the rug or get up from our table spots.  

Storybook Reader

Student Readers...we had a special week of readers!!  5th graders came to read to us and we also had Morgan and Collin share a story with us!  Way to go readers!!
