Today we played a game from the website abcya called "Donut Drop."  Here is a link to try it at home. It helps us build mouse control skills.

Happy Birthday Ajay!

Character Education:  Today we learned the boat pose in mindful movement!  We have learned the tree and the airplane already!

Storybook Reader:  Pastor Culynn read the story I Wanna New Room!

Math:  Today we worked with our ten frames to find out how many more I would need to make 10.  I have ____ I need ______ more to make 10.

Read Aloud:  We started the next Magic Tree House book, Dolphins at Daybreak.

Reading Strategy:  Lips the Fish- when we get to a word we don't know, first we use our eagle eye and then get our mouths ready and say the first sound of the word.

Music Today!

Phonics:  We learned how to spell the color word RED.

Center Wheel/Guided reading book club.

Wednesday, January 2nd

Welcome Back!  

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! 

Snack:  We decided to switch our snack time from 9:30 to 8:45 since our lunch time is now 11:00.  We noticed kids were not eating all of their lunch and saying they weren't hungry.  Hopefully this time change will make kids a little more hungry at lunch time. 

Writing:  Today we wrote about our School New year's resolution!

Math:  Today we counted large numbers with the use of our ten frames!

Read Aloud:  Midnight on the Moon

Reading Strategy:  Today we learned about the strategy Eagle Eye.  He helps us when we get stuck on a word to look at the picture to help us figure out the word!

Phonics:  TH brothers.  We call these the naughty brothers because when they are together in a word they are "naughty" and make us stick out our tongue.

Centers:  We learned about our new reading tubs and write the room centers!
