Thursday, February 28th

Bowling day!  We had such an amazing time bowling today!  Check out Bloomz for some great pics!  I was quite impressed at the little bowlers we had!

Game/Activity:  Hot Potato! :)

Read Aloud: Vacation Under the Volcano- we finished this today! 

Handwriting:  We practiced making our letters- remembering to start them at the top!

Centers Time:  I will be using this time for the rest of the week to continue assessing your child.  Reminder- we will not have guided reading book club this week so your child will not have a new book until next week. :)

WEAR RED TOMORROW!  We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday tomorrow and one way is to become "things".  If they have a red shirt, please have them wear it tomorrow.  

Wednesday, February 27th

Math:  Number writing practice- we played Beat the Teacher!  They love this game!

Spanish:  Today we learned our colors in spanish.

Centers- Since report cards will be coming home next week, I will be using this week to do assessments on the kiddos.  We will not be having new guided reading books this week.

Reminder:  Tomorrow we will be going Bowling in the morning.  Because of the low temps in the morning, we will be getting bussed there instead of walking.  Please send your child in socks with the grips on the bottom if you have them.  

Tuesday, February 26th

We are back up and running! :)

Welcome Sophie and Sawyer!  We are very excited to have you join our kinderhome! :)

Math:  we reviewed the math symbols  + and - and played a game where we had to determine if we had to add or subtract our numbers!

Storybook Reader:  Pastor Culynn read us the story Elmer and the Chickens vs. the Big League

Spanish:  This week two high school Spanish students will be coming down to teach us some simple/basic Spanish words.  Today we learned the Spanish alphabet and played BINGO.

Music Today!

Writing: We wrote letters thanking our bus drivers in honor of Bus Driver Appreciation Day!

Science:  Today we reviewed density and had the opportunity to create a boat made out of clay that would float!  Then we kept improving our boats to see how many little "bear" passengers could ride until it would sink!  We had an amazing time and some great conversations and problem solvers!
