This week we worked on transferring a smaller picture into a bigger picture.  This will help with the tile project you will find in your child's folder this Friday.

We started our first flashlight Friday today.  We have our flashlights to help us work on our snap words.  We LOVED it!

I Love to Read month kickoff

Everyone received a purple calendar stating the activities for the next few weeks.  Please keep track of the number of minutes your child reads to you or you read to them and write it on the correct day. 

School wide expectations:

We had a review of what is expected in various areas of the school.

Club's Choice reward: Duct tape Mr. Sawatzke to the wall!  Every child who sold at least 5 items got a piece of tape to add to the wall.

100th Day of School!

Reading/Phonics:
We finished our study on color words and now began number words.  We have learned th, sh, ch, wh, and ph.  We began our study on word families.  This week we learned at family words.  We keep practicing those snap words using games/flashcards, etc.  Please continue to study those at home!

Next week...
Tuesday: Late start, Valentine's Day.  Please bring in your child's valentine's day box.  Let me know if you need any supplies.
Box top collection is also Tuesday.  Please bring in ANY boxtops you may have laying around.  If you could check with other family members as well.
