Star of the week... Isaiah!
Math:
We have been working on our measuring unit, finding things that are taller, shorter and the same. We also started our next unit on counting objects. We learned 4 counting strategies: count and touch, count and move, count and check and count and slide. We also used ten frames to help organize our counting.
Reading/Phonics:
Letters: U, V, W and X
Snap words: or,are, for and you
Reader's theatre week: We practiced and then performed in front of the class. These help us work on our "fluency" (making our reading sound like talking."
A couple more exciting things happened these last two weeks:
Deck the Halls: We got to go to each of the kindergarten rooms to make a project to decorate the hallway.
Santa delivered an elf to our classroom! We named him Frederick!
He has been a little sneaky lately!
