A Peek at the Week...

Star of the week....Annie!

Character Education:  This week we learned about Superflex!  He helps us make good choices and helps us be the best kid we can be!  Each week we will learn about the Unthinkables.  These get into our brains at times and make us do unexpected things.  Superflex helps get rid of the Unthinkables by being flexible!

Reading/Phonics:

Letters: C and D

Rhyming words

Math: Matching same and different

counting and writing numbers 1-5

Social: We learned about Wiggles the Dog and how he learned to follow school rules.  We also had our first Time for Kids magazine that talked about the importance of having friends.

Character Ed:  This first week Mrs. Weninger read the story How Full is Your Bucket.

We met with Mr. Sawatzke, Officer Fox, and Mrs. Weninger about school expectations and how to be safe at school.

Letter Poems: we have a poem for each letter.

We had our first visit to the library!

Welcome to Kindergarten!

The First Week of School

What a fabulous first week have had!  Your children have learned a lot about being a student at Maple Lake Elementary!  We use the words "expected" and "unexpected" to describe what it looks like at MLE.  Friday was our first day as a whole "kinderfamily" and we had a great day!  Enjoy some pics form our first week of school!

We had our first Irish Pride Celebration today!  We got to meet Mr. Sawatzke, our new principal and all the wonderful new staff and students to our MLE home!
