Dear Kinderfamilies, I am so excited that you will be in my class this year. We have a very fun year planned for you. I am really looking forward to getting to know you and your families. I will start by telling you a little bit about myself. My name is Mrs. Jost and I live out in the country with my husband Steve, my daughter Emma who is 9 years old and will be in 4th grade next year, my son Nick who is 7 and will be in 2nd grade next year, our dog Boomer, our cat Mittens and our two newest members of our family, Peaches and Ginger, 2 little kittens who are very playful and fun. I have been teaching Kindergarten at Maple Lake for the past 3 years and 2 more years before that at a different school. Teaching Kindergarten is my passion!! In Kindergarten you will be making new friends, playing games, learning how to read, learning a lot of math like adding and subtracting, going on 2 field trips and have many parties in between. I feel that every child is special and learns at their own pace and learning should be FUN! Kindergarten is a year of growing socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Your involvement, interest and enthusiasm will help make this a successful year for you and your child. Your child will be very busy learning many news things and many times the process is more important than the product! I look forward to working with you as we enter this journey together. We start this journey with our Irish Kickoff Night on August 28th. This is a great time to check out the classroom and bring your supplies so I can get them ready for the first day of school. REMEMBER: Please label your child's 3-ring binder, notebooks and folders. The rest will be shared. Thanks so much, see you soon! Love, Mrs. Jost ☺
